South of Hardy

Dodging the showers and the schoolkids meandering onto the cycle path took a mooch about the unfashionable south of Hardy Lane, Chorlton. There are half a dozen food establishments of various types. If you camped down there, not literally in this weather, you could eat locally.

Zorbas Greek Restaurant 279 Barlow Moor Road, Peking Palace nearby, even a Sandwich Shop at No. 286 that does deliveries, J.Robinson family butcher, fruit and veg, The Co-op Late Shop, Etchell's for your newspaper and a loaf.

Liked the look of the Persia Grill House 255 Barlow Moor Road, Sat 1200-2300, Sun 1200-2200. Meaty mains but enough veggie starters, nicely furnished, and baklava for dessert. Been open a month, to be tried soon.
