City Life magazine Issue 548 12-15th August has a couple of items feauring Chorlton. Badly Drawn Boy gets on the cover, and I'm not mistaken about this but the photo was taken with him standing at the back of the Bowling Green pub, Chorlton Green. Looks like he's actually stood on the immaculate grass itself. Though the Bowling Green does both food and keg beers it's never been asked to join the Fringe Food and Drink Festival.

Inside there is an article about "the 30 plus range of gorgeous breads from Manchester's purveyor of the finest dough babies around, the Barbakan in Chorlton. These lovelies might be familiar to many restaurant-going readers, as the 40 year old deli supplies most of the city's finest eateries."
