At a well stocked newsagents (I purchased mine at Etchell's, Beech Road) you'll find "Olive" magazine - glossy pictures of gourgeous meals you never see outside a photographic studio. The September issue Number 9 costs £2.80. Palmiro makes it in their Top 100 restaurants in the UK. Described as -"Italian neighbourhood restaurant offering unusual regional dishes such as Sicilian fish couscous". Olive Magazine (no online articles though). Yang Sing and Juniper, Altrincham make it in their as well.
The Hillary Step attracted some local press coverage when it opened a few weeks ago. It's a non-smoking bar, but you can manage the odd tab out back in the nearly finished beer garden.
