Turn it around

Pressure on. Got about twenty days to knock this web site into shape. Finalise some events, get some sponsorship money and generally do a lot of talking.
Where would people like me be without the little shop that stays open. Today's featured store is the franchised family run business on Beech Road with cash machine, fresh veg & booze.

Planning

Went to the 'offical meeting' at Waxy O'Connors in the Printworks - a warren of dark corridors and stair cases. Came away optimistic. But there is that big difference between us lot in Chorlton and the more business like people of town. We wear t-shirts, don't use corporate bullshit phrases, don't have people who do PR. They do.

Another point is that Festivals of any sort need the web. Brochures are published to far in advance to give any up to date details.

Apple Day

If you visit Commonground you can read all about the 14th annual event. This year to include the longest peel competition. Unicorn Grocery will be celebrating Apple Day as part of the Fringe Food & Drink Festival - about two weeks after the actual day...but does it matter...

Huddersfield have a Food & Drink Festival 28th - 31st August with a webcam on St.Georges' Square

It's going to happen

The Manchester Food & Drink Festival is on...this will be the 6th year...the dates 1st until 13th October. The Chorlton Fringe bit will happen as well. Not done any work on this site for a good while so a good overhaul is needed here. The event coincides with National Organic Food Week.

Sad Demise

On the corner of Mauldeth Road West & Princess Road a burnt out boarded Princess pub - a roadhouse model from the 1930's. It was a period of great pub architecture - building showy buildings to look like coachhouses & taverns from a previous era. Don't suppose people want to go to these places now?
