Thank you
Bean Counter & Battery Bar (same owner - Morag ) are preparing events for a Fringe Food Festival. Unicorn & Barbakan totally blank, nowt done.
Tonight looked at the logs for this site. People are actually reading it. 2700+ hits this year, sounds good until you realise that a lot of them are webots indexing the web. It looks like you are one of them, so thank you to you too.

new Unicorn part 2
.
The new look store for Chorlton is excellent. To the sound of hammering & sawing in the background it's going to get even bigger. The offical grand opening is set for September 21st or there abouts. This is a success for Chorlton - though people do travel from far away as Stoke, North Wales, Liverpool & Halifax to stock up. The new extended [ all-organic if you didn't already know ] fruit & veg section opens in about two weeks.

chips beer & footie
Had a birthday meal here years ago but things have moved on. Now it offers a sit down chip supper, a bar with beer & optics plus live football on the box. Sounds quite a good idea - carbohydrate, the second half and a refreshing pint. It's Chorlton Green fish & chip shop. On a down side chip takeaways are now an environmental disaster. Polystyrene trays & plastic forks, plastic sachets of sauce - landfill for generations to come. Tuesday, July 15, 2003
new Unicorn
The new extension to Unicorn Grocery opened today. A joy to behold even though they've still got builders in. Bright, spacious and in bright colours. Try and get a few pictures for later in the week.

Fringe Food Doubtful
So far I've heard "no activity" in organising the fringe food festival. I've seen blank faces when I made enquiries. Got a website but no main event.
However I'm going to organise or make efforts to organise a food cinema event. Short videos biggish screen.

More of the same

Indoor shot with camera phone of Belgian Bellies - a wide selection of fancy beer. Then a shot of some advert in a bus stop. Some pasta sauce for people who can't cook, won't cook - comes in a plastic wrapper.

Belgian Bellies
It might have a very garish front but it's very cool inside. This is the new Belgian themed deli. Handmade quality chocolate, a selection of Flemish beers with the appropriate glass available, mustard and marshmallows. Plus they do sandwiches and coffee. Where is it? Next to Planet Botanic on Wilbraham Road, opposite the Lloyds pub. Worth a visit and a dip into the wallet.
Meanwhile Carringtons have ventured into selling lemons and limes for your drinks. A slice of lemon in your wheat beer is a very welcome summer refresher. The suprise was selling tomatoes. Not any old tommies but the genuine paccino variety - they are a cherry tomato on the vine and come from Sicily. Amazing. Bought a punnet - weighed in at nearly 1.2 kilos for £4.50. Taste the difference.
